Jenny Walker is an equestrian drawing from her own powerful journey of overcoming fear in the saddle, Jenny bridges the worlds of horsemanship and mindfulness. She guides riders to quiet their internal noise and cultivate a state of shared calm, unlocking a profound connection that replaces anxiety with trust.
My journey with horses began later in life, and for years, my time in the saddle felt like I was white-knuckling my way through fear. After a bad fall—one of many—I found myself constantly waiting for disaster. My horses always knew. Each one taught me something about myself, and I eventually had to face the truth: the struggle I was having with my horse was a mirror for the struggles I was having in the rest of my life.
Coming from an adrenaline-pumping career and a life that was always "vibrating at a 10," the internal noise was deafening. I knew something had to shift. That's when I discovered meditation—not as another app to log into, but as a practice to become truly self-sufficient. The goal was simple but profound: to unplug from the noise and reconnect with myself.
That practice changed everything. I began meditating with my horses, sitting by the paddock while they grazed, simply sharing a state of calm. The fear dissolved and was replaced by a new level of partnership. I learned how to drop into the same field as my horse, where he could see me and I could see him. We were one. I created In This Lesson to share this transformative practice with fellow riders, so you too can quiet the noise and build the deep, intuitive bond you've always wanted with your partner.
